NVQ/ SVQ Hairdressing Level 1 Print E-mail
This is a full time course and is an ideal introduction to hairdressing for school leavers and mature students. Its purpose is to provide you with an introduction to the practical hairdressing skills and knowledge you will need to get into the Hairdressing Industry.
 
Course Contents

  • Ensuring your own actions will reduce any risks to health & safety
  • Preparing for hairdressing services and maintaining work areas
  • Shampooing and conditioning hair
  • Contributing to the development of good working relationships
  • Assisting with salon reception duties
  • Assisting with hair colouring services

Entrance Requirements

Formal entry qualifications are not required. You will, of course, need good communication skills and be comfortable about working with people and you will need to attend the course information event!

Duration of the Course

Full time - 1 year

Progression

  • Further study could include NVQ, SVQ Hairdressing Level 2 with Beauty Care and/or Ladies Hairdressing, Barbering, African Caribbean Hairdressing and NVQ/
  • SVQ Beauty Therapy Level 2.
  • Employment in the Hairdressing Industry.
